Leslie J. Pollard, Jr., M.D., will be joining the medical staff of the Center for Primary Care-Central in July of this year. He is currently in private practice at Bulloch Family Medicine in Statesboro, Georgia.
A native of Richmond County, Dr. Pollard received his B.S. in Chemistry from Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans in 1989, and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta in 1993. He completed his internship and residency in Family Practice at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill in 1997. After completing his medical education, Dr. Pollard opened Bulloch Family Medicine, where he is still in solo practice.
Throughout his medical education and career, Dr. Pollard has been active in a wide range of educational, professional, and community service organizations, where he has held numerous leadership positions. His special interests in patient care include newborn and adolescent medicine, teenage pregnancy, geriatrics, preventive medicine, high blood pressure, diabetes, weight loss, and exercise and fitness.
Dr. Pollard and his wife, Tammy (Luke) Pollard, who is also from the Augusta area, are looking forward to returning to their hometown with their children, twins Brooke and Leslie, age 5, and Christina, age 3.
