Jerry Lambert joins Drs. Robert Suykerbuyk and David Jester as the third family physician at the Center For Primary Care in North Augusta and the 18th physician on the CPC medical staff.
A native of Gainesville , Florida , Dr. Lambert grew up in South Carolina and received his undergraduate education at Clemson University , Lee University in Cleveland , Tennessee , and Valdosta State University . In 1997, he received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, where he also completed an internship and residency in Family Medicine and served as chief resident from 1998 to 1999. A board-certified family physician, Dr. Lambert has been an assistant professor in the MCG Department of Family Medicine since 2000 and medical director of the HamesNet Research Network since 2002. Dr. Lambert and his wife, Paula, have two children, Christan, 23, and Meagan, 21.
Dr. Lambert is looking forward to applying his experience in academic medicine to the care of patients in what he considers an excellent model of family medicine in a private practice setting. The Center For Primary Care has set the standard for family medicine in the CSRA, consistently making decisions based on what is best for patients their healthcare, their convenience, and their satisfaction, he explains. This patient care philosophy, he believes, is a good fit for his own commitment to providing high quality care to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and conditions. While he enjoys all aspects of family medicine, he has a special interest in the prevention and management of heart disease and cardiovascular risk factors, such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and hypertension.
